Action Day 2 (15 July 2007)

The hunger strikers stay behind while the noise of ferries and passengers gradually fade away when midnight approaches. Friends and family drop by throughout the day and Saturday evening and help accosting people to sign the petition.

The hottest day of the year requires the hunger strikers to drink plenty. An ample supply of mineral water, pocari sweat, honey/lemon drinks was available. None of them craved for food.

The night was quiet and hot but a fresh harbour wind blew through cooling us. The beach mats we were sleeping on were uncomfortable and sweaty. Luckily I had brought towels to use as pillow and grounding.

Most of the night I could sleep soundly and early Sunday morning was quiet so a lot of us started to nap again. The atmosphere was brotherly among the hunger strikers and the public had given their support.

At 12.30pm we could finish our hunger strike and we were offered congee, bread and yoghurt.
